A Midsummer Day's Plea

Take me to the beach,
Please. I'm lonely.
I'm cold and waiting
For him to read me.
I wrote him a poem,
And this is another.
Take me to the beach,
Please. I will swim
Tirelessly and bind
Myself to the sun--
So when it spins
To where he is,  I will
Speak these lines:
I will take you the beach,
Come with me.
I will make you a home
Out of coconut leaves.
We will get tan lines
All year round. The sands
Will become our shrines.
We will marry the sea.
